There are three glands, scattered across Fallgrim in temples, protected by savage and hostile enemies. In the opening moments of the game, you’re lead to a tower where you find a giant prisoner who sets you off on a quest to locate the “sacred glands”, from which the prisoner can extract the “true nektar” and revive his ailing body. ![]() You don’t know why you’re here or what’s going on. You awaken as a wrinkly corpse with the ability to inhabit certain bodies, called “shells”, in a dying land known as Fallgrim. The plot of Mortal Shell is bare and mysterious. Punishing, pure and polished, the title knows what it wants to be and what it doesn’t and as a player, you get to experience a unique and clever approach to the Action RPG genre. However, after playing, it soon becomes apparent that Mortal Shell is very much its own thing, and it would be completely unfair to brandish it as yet another “Soulslike”.ĭeveloped by Cold Symmetry and published by Playstack, Mortal Shell strips back the formula of the Dark Souls series to its coldest and most unforgiving elements. It’s very difficult to talk about Mortal Shell without mentioning this, because at its base, Mortal Shell is a love letter to Dark Souls. In recent years, one of these titles is the incredible Dark Souls series. Every once in a while, a game or franchise comes along that so flawlessly executes its concept that the formula it lays out becomes a sort of genre unto itself.

The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm has been re-themed to The Barnstormer featuring Goofy as the Great Goofini. The land was closed in early 1996 for an extensive refurbishment, and on October 1, 1996, it reopened as Mickey's Toontown Fair for the park's 25th anniversary. It became Mickey's Starland on May 26, 1990, and was briefly renamed Mickey's Toyland in late 1995. The attractions at Disney-MGM Studios were canceled, but a version of Mickey's Toontown opened at Tokyo Disneyland in 1996. Hollywoodland was combined with the concept of Mickey's Birthdayland, as well as a concept found in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, to form Mickey's Toontown, which opened in 1993 behind Fantasyland at Disneyland. There were also set to be attractions based on Roger Rabbit, Judge Doom, and Baby Herman opening in a major expansion at the Disney's Hollywood Studios and Tokyo Disneyland, but after the financial troubles of the Euro Disney Resort, plans were cut back. Meanwhile, at the Magic Kingdom, a new land behind Fantasyland was being developed in honor of Mickey Mouse's sixtieth birthday, named Mickey's Birthdayland. Roger Rabbit was set to be the star of his own land, behind Main Street, U.S.A. Roger Rabbit was recognized as a lucrative character by Disney after the release of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and a set of attractions based on the movie was developed for Disney theme parks. It was inspired by "Toontown" from the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit in which cartoon characters live apart from humans. The attraction is a small-scale recreation of the Mickey Mouse universe where visitors can meet the characters and visit their homes which are constructed in a cartoonish style. We all always have input in what's going on and Andrew wrote some of the songs on Harmonicraft, too. Everybody certainly brings something to the table, however. The vocals were put off a little too long in my opinion, but Steve does pretty well under pressure and he definitely delivered. We tend to work really well while on the spot. Andrew wrote the sci-fi sounding track “Restarter," but this record was mostly Steve and myself, and we put a lot of it together on the spot. Nuñez: He definitely has his own sound and playing style, which cuts well within our sound. ![]() Has Andrew Elstner's role been fully realized at this point and did he contribute any writing on this album? The band had intentions to continue as a trio briefly following Juan Montoya's departure. When we do get together, we make it happen. I would eventually like to spend more time with everybody together, but we all live in different places now and we all have our lives to live. Like, 12-hour days or more sometimes.ĭoes the time pressure work to the band's benefit?īrooks: Yeah! We've been doing it for a long time, so, it's worked for us thus far. So, when we get together for a couple of weeks, it's an intense couple of weeks. Steve Brooks: I don't want to spend too much time away from home. He walked into it at the eight-year mark, so he's had a lot of catching up to do. We stop to eat and take small breaks, but other than that, it's pretty intense. We usually have tours booked around that time, so it's a practice/writing, grind-it-out type of scenario when we get together. We're paying for the flights that take Steve from the West Coast out to Miami, and Andrew Elstner either flies or drives down from Atlanta, so we know we have a limited window to work in. Whenever we get together, we know there's absolutely no time to waste. The gearhead spent months researching equipment before going into the studio. Torche bassist Jonathan Nuñez produced and engineered his band's fourth album, Restarter. We had a couple of delays with the mix, mastering, and art, so we held off because we felt we'd have a stronger release in the beginning of this year, as opposed to the end of last year. It was written in two-and-a-half weeks last year. Nuñez: Well, Restarter is actually a year old for us. How does the band stay so active with its members so far flung? I wouldn't be surprised if we start cranking some new Torche stuff out of here relatively soon. I'm teaming up with a dude who also has great equipment and is really kind and courteous. It's closer to the other states, and the new room sounds great. Other local bands did some great albums at Pinecrust and it was a wonderful experience, but I'm not necessarily sulking over leaving because I think Gainesville is going to be a great move. I developed my sonic identity here, and the band has expanded and progressed over the years and just about all of that has been done here. Jonathan Nuñez: I think as time goes on you develop your own sound as an engineer, but we also have as a band. Do you think Restarter is an appropriate swan song for Pinecrust and what you set out to accomplish as a producer and engineer? You recently closed it down and relocated from Miami to Gainesville. Jonathan, Restarter is the highest profile album to come out of your studio, Pinecrust. It's just straight-up power." -Steve Brooks “The simplicity of Moog synth riffs really inspired some of the stuff. ![]() We spoke with frontman/guitarist Brooks and bassist Jonathan Nuñez-who also produced and engineered Restarter out of his Miami studio-about the group's sonic footprint, and what it's like to make a record with band members strewn about the country. The album is a testament to Torche's unique and evolving aural personality. While Restarter's heavies weigh more than anything the band has put out in recent memory, the album also displays frontman Steve Brooks' desire to introduce unexpected melody at every opportunity. Rife with the churning bombast and saccharine melodies some have labeled “doom-pop," Restarter marks a distinct return to the merciless sonic bludgeoning that characterized the band's early output. The band returns this year with a triumphantly crushing fourth full-length release, Restarter. Unlike the many other bands aping post-Melvins metal since the late '90s, Torche creates their infectious onslaught by combining slack-tuned noise with catchy, high-octane rock 'n' roll. Having risen from the ashes of the (formerly) defunct sludge-metal legends Floor, Miami's Torche has been defining its own genre for more than a decade. ![]() Its versatility enables effortless integration into workflows for managing countless tasks, including but not limited to, document creation, budgeting, personal finance, tax record management, small business document management, student/research analysis, and extensive needs of government agencies, non-profit organizations and largest corporations on the planet.Įven though it is filled to the brim with tools and services, the user interface of the Regarded as the gold standard for spreadsheet creation and analysis, MS Excel to this day outmatches all competition with its wide array of tools and powerful advanced features that satisfy the needs of everyone, from first-time spreadsheet users to largest corporations who are interested in analytics and integrated forecasting functions. In addition, the BPSD approach may lead in practice to symptom-oriented prescriptions, which besides, has yet not proven satisfactory. The scarcity of resources for adequate non-pharmacological and environmental interventions exerts pressure on physicians to compensate those shortcomings with medication. These guidelines, which clearly recommend non-pharmacological treatment as first option, are however difficult to implement in institutions with overburdened staff. ![]() An exception were the International Psychogeriatric Association (IPA) guidelines for the treatment of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) ( 7). In that context, prescribing optimization was neither priority, nor were there guidelines available to handle psychotropic prescribing of people with dementia in an all-encompassing way. While many scholars focused on the most urgent problem, i.e., deprescribing ( 4– 6), the concept of “chemical restraint” was elaborated in normative attempts to reduce risks associated with mostly wrongful prescriptions (e.g., Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Interpretive Guidelines §483.13a Gobierno de Navarra, Decreto Foral 221/2011 Deutsches Strafgesetzbuch (StGB) §239 Freiheitsberaubung). Among this group of patients, additional concern has been raised in elders with dementia regarding psychotropics, especially long half-life benzodiazepines and all type neuroleptics ( 3).Įvidence that inadequate prescriptions exposed patients to disproportionate risks of cognitive deterioration, vascular events, injurious falls, pneumonia, and death set off several complementary lines of initiatives. Polypharmacy is a major issue for the geriatric patient in general ( 1, 2). The results of previous validation studies of this new methodology will be discussed and conclusions for future results will be drawn. This article explains the rationale that underlies a syndromic approach aimed at optimizing psychotropic treatment in people with dementia whose significant suffering derives from their thought, affective, or behavioral problems. Clinical practice, however, leads us to believe that even under optimal care conditions, psychotropics might still contribute to quality of life if based on an adequate diagnosis. Paucity of research and weakness of data are not conclusive about the adequacy of specific drugs for the myriad of cases presented by patients with dementia and comorbid conditions. ![]() By switching to syndrome-based prescription, a large proportion of drugs could be de-prescribed and some re-adjusted or kept. Two validation studies revealed that one of the main medical reasons of over- and miss-prescriptions was symptom-based prescription. The CHemical Restraints av Oidance MEthodology (CHROME) defined chemical restraint as any prescription based on organizational convenience, rather than justified with medical diagnosis. Each psychotropic drug prescription can in principle be assessed around three dimensions: (a) adequate, (b) inadequate, and (c) chemical restraint. This unfortunate reality has been reacted upon with numerous guidelines to reduce prescriptions of the most dangerous drugs (e.g., neuroleptics). One social factor is probably the frequent failure to provide adequate person-centered care, be it in the community or in institutional settings. 6Neurology Service, University Hospital Gregorio Marañón, Madrid, SpainĪ variety of medical and social factors have contributed over the last decades to the overuse of psychotropic drugs in people with dementia.5Memory Disorders Clinic, HM Hospitals, Madrid, Spain.4Albertia Servicios Sociosanitarios, Madrid, Spain.2Servicio de Psiquiatría, Instituto de Investigación i+12, Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre, Madrid, Spain.Ruben Muñiz 1 †, Jorge López-Alvarez 1,2 †, Luis Agüera-Ortiz 2,3, Luis Perea 4 and Javier Olazarán 1,5,6 * ![]() The DX version has an exclusive dungeon designed for the Game Boy Color and it has its enemies and puzzles based on colors. Most people choose to save this one for the end of the game when they don't need to go into the shop again anyway.
